TWELFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
In today’s Gospel Jesus says that the kingdom of God is inevitable. It
is coming, and he is the witness to it. Therefore those who walk in the
ways of the kingdom should not fear. They should acknowledge and proclaim
God in their lives, because God holds them in loving care. As Paul says
elsewhere in is Letter to the Romans, “O the depth of the riches and
wisdom and knowledge of God How unsearchable are his judgments and how
inscrutable his ways! The mystery that was kept secret for long ages is
now disclosed.”
DODICESIMA DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO
Il tema del Vangelo di oggi è di non aver paura. Si tratta della paura
che può afferrare il cristiano nel momento in cui deve confessare la sua
fede dinanzi agli uomini.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a small
coin? Yet not one of them falls to the ground without your Father's
knowledge. Even all the hairs of your head are counted. So do not be
afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Everyone who acknowledges
me before others I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father." - Mt
10:29-32

GO AND MAKE DISCIPLES
How are we, members of the
special community of Holy Rosary parish, going to respond to the call to
evangelize today those who are in the pews and those who have left them?
Father Frank DeSiano, president of the Paulist National Catholic
Evangelization Association, pointed out that the Catholic Church tends
to concentrate on those who come to Church, forgetting those who do not:
those who have no church and those who have stopped practicing their
faith. He offers the following directions in view of what is happening
generally in society today:
• We have to do extensive outreach to “inactive Catholics:” not in any
simplistic way, but by reaching one by one.
• We need to develop programs of catechesis and religious-communal
experiences.
• Our parish needs to reinvigorate its ministry of welcome, hospitality,
and inviting others into service in the parish and wider community. All
Catholics “shop” for their parishes today. They need a reason to prefer
Holy Rosary.
• Holy Rosary parish must adopt explicit outreach strategies of wider
invitation, public relations and outreach programming, particularly with
reference to young adults.
In our persistent efforts of evangelization we must be particularly
aware that ours is a culture of choice rather than “tradition” and the
process of “recommitment” is very slow. “Given the undeniable trends
happening across American culture in religious communities, Catholics
need to focus again on their great heritage of faith, learning the
methods of how better to instill that heritage in a world of choice
that, having experienced great change, will undoubtedly experience it
even more in the future.”
