EASTER SUNDAY
Today is the day of Easter joy when the Lord appeared to people who
had begun to lose hope. On Easter morning we look beyond an empty tomb to
faith in the risen Jesus who now lives with us. This Easter day invites us
to rejoice in what God promised to do for us in the Scriptures: to die,
rise and ascend into his Father’s glorious presence.
This day is God’s everlasting memorial of what God did for us in the
paschal mystery.
sconcertante.

Then the angel said to the women in
reply, "Do not be afraid! I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.
He is not here, for he has been raised just as he said. Come and see the
place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples, 'He has been
raised from the dead, and he is going before you to Galilee; there you
will see him.' Behold, I have told you." - Mt 28:5-7

ADULT FAITH FORMATION
CLASS
Beginning Sunday, March 30,
2008, the Reverend Francis V. Tiso, Ph.D., from the Secretariat for
Ecumenical and Inter-religious Affairs of the United States Conference of
Catholic Bishops, will conduct an adult faith formation class in the Lower
Church Hall of Holy Rosary Church on the last Sunday of every month from
10:30 to 11:30 A.M.
As Alice Hugh Brown wrote in Church magazine (Spring 2008), adult faith
formation is essential to who we are and what we do as church. It involves
the entire church community, It should reach out to the whole community,
helping adults deepen their understanding and recognize their
responsibilities as adult Christians. It is through community that adults
strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ. Part of the church’s
mission is to grow continually as an adult faith community.
This adult faith community class intends to meet people where they are in
their faith development as well as where they are in their adult roles as
singles, married, retirees, etc. The class should always actively
challenge participants to get them involved with their own faith journey.
It will be successful if its focus will be on the participants, who should
be encouraged to live out in their lives what they are studying. For this
to happen, material must be relevant to the world issues adults face
daily, with both catechist and participants rely on the Holy Spirit for
guidance and support.
The U. S. bishops’ Sharing the Light of Faith (1979) identifies the
maturing believer as one who recognizes the lasting values of human
activity in this world, while striving for conversion and renewal. Such a
believer grows in understanding the mystery of salvation and the meaning
of the reign of God. The maturing believer has an active sacramental and
prayer life and recognizes that in order to grow in faith one needs to be
part of a believing community.
Adults have a right and duty to bring to maturity the seeds of faith sown
in them by God. It is critical to provide adult faith formation and tailor
it to the needs of parishioners.

appropriate envelopes marked “Easter Flowers” that can be found in the

NEXT SUNDAY IS DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY – The picture of Christ, as He
appeared to St. Faustina, will be exposed in the sanctuary, and the
chaplet will be recited before the 9:00 a.m. Mass. Prayer cards are
